Advancing Innovation – A Shared Path with DIAMOND
It is often a challenge to drive innovation in such a dynamic environment like the industry. However,
developing new ideas and standards is crucial for the future viability of our companies and our industry as
a whole. It’s not just about the research and development of individual actors, but also about mutual
exchange and building on results to further develop them.
The partners of the DIAMOND project have clearly recognized this: When several companies take up the
innovative results from the DIAMOND project and continue them, the positive effect that emerges can be much
greater. This thought motivates us to intensify the collaboration and dialogue between the partners. It’s
even more important to gain concrete opinions and perspectives from the involved companies.
"What Our Partners Say About DIAMOND" – A New Section for Exciting Insights
To foster this exchange, we have introduced the section "What Our Partners Say About DIAMOND". In this
section, concrete statements from our DIAMOND partners are regularly published. They offer valuable insights
into the progress of the project and demonstrate how the developments of DIAMOND are applied in companies
and contribute to increasing efficiency and ensuring the future.
Here’s the first excerpt:
"Through the newly developed standards of the Asset Administration Shell (AAS) and the submodels of the AML,
software solutions can exchange construction data more easily. BMW AG will incorporate these new standards
into the development of our new data management and in software extensions for our factory planning tools."
– Dr. Martin Langosch, BMW AG
"For us at EKS InTec GmbH, DIAMOND stands for the development of a shared, cross-domain data model that makes
the collaboration between plant planning, design, simulation, virtual commissioning, and much more more
efficient and future-proof. Our focus is on the integrative use of established standards such as
AutomationML (AML), Asset Administration Shell (AAS), Functional Mock-up Interface (FMI), and OPC Unified
Architecture (UA). We combine the strengths of these standards to ensure interoperability and flexibility –
instead of an ‘either-or,’ we rely on a ‘both-and.’ DIAMOND lays the foundation for continuous data flows
and enables digital transformation, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises in Germany – essential
for sustainable success in a connected world."
– Dr.-Ing. Miriam Schleipen, EKS InTec GmbH
Continuous Expansion of Statements
These statements are just the beginning. Throughout the project, we will continuously expand this section
with additional perspectives and reports that further illustrate the developments and positive effects of
DIAMOND.
